Ferrino and the Ski Mountaineering World Cup 2009-2010

Ferrino

From the Alps to the Dolomites and even as far as the snows of Etna, passing via the ultra-classic Patrouille des Glaciers, Pierra Menta and Sellaronda and myriad other thrilling races, this promises to be a packed season for ski mountaineering. And as always, FERRINO is a technical partner to the athletes, in particular those from the Italian National Team, and amongst others, Dennis Brunod, Guido Giacomelli, Manfred Reichegger and Gloriana Pellissier. Yes, Ferrino will be alongside the absolute cream of the world ski mountaineering scene, on the competition bibs.

As always, all eyes will be focused on the 7 stages (4 in Italy) of the World Cup grand tour which, from December 2009 to April 2010 will see the very best competing. A place of absolute honour goes to the key date in the Championships, which will be held in Andorra from 1 to 7 March 2010. However, we mustn’t forget that, like every year, the calendar also includes a host of other races, throughout the Alps and beyond, which will see extraordinary ski mountaineering athletes and fans at the starting line every weekend.

The World Cup 2009-2010 will be starting out in Pila, Valle d'Aosta, an occasion between the 18-19th December that promises to be a true celebration. This will be followed by the Transclautana race on the snows of Claut in Valcellina, at the entrance to the Dolomiti Friulane Regional Park on 23 January.
Then, on 7 February, it is the turn of Charmey, in Switzerland with the Trophée des Gastlosen before the southernmost stage of the tour on 20 February, the Trofeo dell’Etna on the charming snows of Europe’s highest active volcano.

Then, after the unmissable dates on the Dolomites on 5 March with the Sella Ronda Skimarathon and the 28 March in Moena with the Pizolada delle Dolomiti, on 4 April the World Cup moves to Arvieux in France for the Grand Béal. This is the penultimate stage before it makes a return to the Dolomites for the grand finale in Madonna di Campiglio of the Ski Alp Dolomiti di Brenta, scheduled for 11 April.

We wish a fantastic season to all of the ski mountaineers! Once again, Ferrino will be by their side.
