Salewa regularly conducts tests on its safety products to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. As part of these quality control procedures, carabiners are tested for their loading capacity. During testing, a few SUB wire G2 carabiner (with wire gate) deviated in its lateral axis breaking load from the norm values.
N.B.: The test was conducted under extreme conditions, which are uncommon in practice. Nevertheless Salewa has decided to recall all SUB wire G2 carabiners from the market to prevent any risks for users.
Owners of these carabiners are asked to contact a Salewa dealer or Salewa International. The SUB wire G2 carabiners will be exchanged free of charge.
N.B.: Only SUB wire G2 carabiners with the abovementioned product serial numbers will be exchanged.No other carabiners are affected by the recall.
The carabiners concerned have the following properties:
Colour: Yellow anodised – wire (wire gate).
Products affected are only those carabiners and sets with the production serial numbers:
