A HISTORY OF INNOVATION
Our grandfather Gustavo Pedrotti obtained his shoemaker diploma in 1921. Some 30 years later, in 1957, our father Alfeo started AICAD and in 1986 we took over management of the business.
We’ve always believed in innovation and research. During the early 1990s, the PROJECT LIZARD® was born and has evolved with a belief that “in order to be comfortable, footwear needs to respect the foot”. From that time onward, all our efforts were invested to create anatomically friendly footwear.
In 1992 the first result of this philosophy was the sandal Hike. In 1997, we launched the shoes Fin and Paw, the first ever minimalist outdoor shoes.
In 2005, we introduced Agile, a shoe, which is lightweight, breathable, protective, quick-drying. The Agile received the prestigious ISPO award for “Best Mountain Sports Innovation in the Shoe Category”.
The newly-developed Shield, a waterproof and breathable over-sock in 2010 received the “OutDoor Industry Award”.
In summer 2012, our minimalist innovation continues with the introduction of the multifunctional footwear sandals and closed-toe footwear.
