A semi-automatic device that, unlike anything the market has seen before, has a "one piece" design with no mechanical parts that could be activated accidently by dirt build-up or incorrect use. The Nine™ by SALEWA combines the light weight and user-friendliness of a figure-of-eight descender with the security of a self-blocking system. In a fall The Nine™ blocks the rope quickly and dynamically, helping the climber avoid the abrupt wrench that often leads to physical injury and protecting the entire safety system (harness, karabiners, quickdraws…) from a single brief but intense load.
