| La Sportiva launches its first winter clothing line |
| La Sportiva, a world leader for climbing shoes and technical mountain boots, now makes its official entrance into the technical outdoor apparel market with the presentation at ISPO (Munich) of a collection entirely dedicated to ski mountaineering race, alpine touring and free-ride. |

Over the past two years we have been working on our strategic growth targets within the ski mountaineering sector” says Managing Director Lorenzo Delladio - “Our first step was to complete our hardgoods line, first launched in 2008 with the introduction of the innovative carbon model Stratos and which now comprises a complete range of boots, skis and bindings; and subsequently, the addition of a technical apparel range, created to meet the specific demands of the ski mountaineer”.
La Sportiva ski mountaineering products will be available in specialist stores by the beginning of the 2012/2013 winter season and will be presented to European trade operators at ISPO Munich, while American retailers will have to wait until SIA Snowshow and the OR Winter Market. Ski mountaineering is a lifestyle, it is about choosing new paths, stepping out of the beaten track” continues Delladio ”A lifestyle that reflects the company’s fundamental mission of constantly striving to create the finest mountaineering products through innovation and technology”.
La Sportiva’s winter apparel collection has been carefully designed by a team of mountain specialists in the R&D department and comprises hard-shell, soft-shell, thermal layers, mid layers and base layers divided into well defined lines: FAST FORWARD - lightweight, super stretch race garments; PERFORMANCE – created for mountain enthusiasts who seek safety and comfort in all their outdoor activities. In the new apparel line, La Sportivaís continues its long-running partnership with W.L. Gore & Associates to utilize the highest performing fabrics available: GORE-TEX® Active Shell e GORE-TEX® Pro Shell.
The launch of the clothing line will be supported by an advertising campaign that draws inspiration from superheroes films and movies: the ski mountaineer is portrayed as someone capable of overcoming personal limitations and obstacles, keen to meet new challenges and reach ever higher peaks; characteristics that reflect the constant dedication to research into innovative materials and technology which has accompanied La Sportiva for over 83 years.
