Dynafit, the ski touring specialist, is gearing up for summer
A new era is dawning for the ski touring supplier DYNAFIT. From 2012 onwards, the leading supplier in ski touring equipment will also have a summer collection to offer. Under the heading of Speed Mountaineering, Dynafit will now promote its Alpine expertise in summer too, with new Alpine Running and Alpine Biking ranges.
Dealers, partners and athletes have been waiting for this for some time. After three years of intensive preparation, Dynafit will launch a small collection of hardware and textile items in early 2012. Dynafit’s core values of speed, lightness, technology and performance are still very much at the heart of their summer collection.
The idea originated with the athletes – ski runners ski on mountains in winter. In summer, they scale the same peaks at a run. The world’s best Alpine runners are also the world’s best ski runners. The goal is to reach the peak quickly and directly, using the shortest path, up steep inclines. Sometimes even a degree of climbing is involved.
Dynafit’s athletes, textile engineers and designers have developed the collection to meet these demands, using pared-down Alpine designs and ultra-light high-tech materials. For Alpine Running, athletes must be very fit, surefooted and have extremely good reflexes. They use minimal equipment, but as a result, use custom-selected materials. Athletic. Lightweight. Strong. Lasting. Tough. Energised.
Winter athletes vary their training in summer, by taking long bike rides in alpine terrain, for example. At the request of ski runners, Dynafit is now entering the summer market and will build on decades of tradition in highly-technical cycling clothing. This will allow the ski touring specialist to expand its portfolio to include an Alpine Biking range.
Dynafit is committed to developing the potential of the perfect combination of Alpine Running and Biking. The ski touring brand is facing the challenge with its usual proficiency however: Dynafit is a brand for athletes, and active ski tourers are the ones who determine the development and structure of the brand. In addition to its head office in Munich, Dynafit has 7 operations in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Poland and the USA. Around 200 employees worldwide live the sport and the brand, and make Dynafit unique.
The former Austrian ski boot manufacturer Dynafit became part of the SALEWA/Oberalp Group in 2003. In 2005, Dynafit added a clothing range to its ranges of touring skis and boots. The group was also given a visual makeover with the new snow leopard logo. This animal perfectly symbolises the values and characteristics that Dynafit stands for - the snow leopard moves quickly and elegantly in the world’s highest mountains and is an inspiration to the athletes. The branding is minimalist and clean. In 2012 Dynaft will launch its first summer collection – as always with the slogan, "Speed Up"!
