C.A.M.P. athlete Stefano Ghisolfi, after his second place last year, is the new 2012 Italian Lead Climbing Champion. He gained the title on 6th October at Aprica, close to Sondrio, where he was the actor of an exciting head to head with Francesco Vettorata. In fact, both Ghisolfi and Vettorata reached the top in the final but Stefano won the title thanks to the better result reached in the semifinal.
On 13th October Ghisolfi gained also the 3rd place in the 6th stage of the Lead World Cup in Xining (China), finally breaking the Italian climbers long absence from the podium. So we congratulate with Stefano, who is having an amazing climbing competition season, having already won the Boulder Italian Cup and close to win the Lead Italian Cup with the last competition scheduled on 11th November, in Premana, home of C.A.M.P. Without forgetting, of course, the three last events of the World Cup on 20-21th October in Mokpo (South Korea), on 27-28th October in Inzai (Japan) and on 17-18th November in Kranj (Slovenia). Ghisolfi is proud and happy for the Italian title, pursued after a long time: «I tried to get it for several seasons but something always went wrong» he says. «But this year, even if the result was uncertain to the last, all went well. By the way, before starting the final route, I heard the noise from the audience and realized that Vettorata had reached the top». The Air harness was important for Stefano's achievements: «I've been using the Air for years and in my opinion it's a very good harness. The Air is absolutely perfect for competitions: it is so light and allows a so wide freedom of movement that sometimes I don't realize to wear it. I will use the Air harness also during the Lead Italian Cup competition in Premana where I will feel like playing at home!».
