| Piolet d'Or Asia: Denis Urubko won Lifetime Achievement Award |
| On 9th November 2012 in South Korea's capital Seoul, C.A.M.P. athlete Denis Urubko won Lifetime Achievement Award at the 7th Piolet d'Or Asia. |

The Kazakh mountaineer climbed all 8000 meters peaks without bottled oxygen, establishing amazing new routes on Broad Peak, Manaslu and Cho Oyu. He also completed Makalu and Gasherbrum II first winter ascents, a very difficult new route on the north face of Pobeda Peak (Tien Shan Range) and many hard climbs on the most challenging mountains of the former USSR.
Denis likes climbing but also telling his achievements. He wrote several books and Colpevole d'alpinismo (Guilty of Mountaineering), that was published in Italy two years ago, was awarded the important ITAS prize. After this successful, Priuli & Verlucca Press has just published Eccesso di montagna (Excess of Mountain) in which Urubko collected old and new articles, tales and notes.
«I didn't modify the original texts – Denis says – and there are great stylistic differences between them. I tried to present my idea of mountaineering: a personal interpretation of some basic points. In Eccesso di montagna everything is related to climbing: mountaineering is the main theme. So, I hope that Italian readers will appreciate my effort to take a look at the reality through the lens of my experiences on the great mountains».
