| La Sportiva expands its range within the winter sports category |
| La Sportiva, the world leader in technical outdoor footwear production, presents the new winter collection at the 2013 edition of ISPO in Monaco. The winter apparel and hardgoods range has been further expanded to meet the growing demands of the ski mountaineering market. There are three distinct categories within the new La Sportiva Winter Collection, each designed to meet the specific needs of ski mountaineers and outdoor enthusiasts at all levels. |

Firstly we have Skimo Race, a line dedicated to the world of ski-alp racing, where lightweight, speed and technical materials are fundamental for victory. Secondly we have Skimo Tour, a range of skis, boots and garments which guarantee a unique adventure without limits, allowing the mountaineer to obtain maximum performance in complete security thanks to the comfortable, warm, protective and high performance products. Thirdly we have Skimo Free, a range of products dedicated to downhill skiing on soft powder snow; dedicated to the world of free-style.
“Over the years, La Sportiva has been capable of distinguishing itself for its proactive approach to the outdoor industry", states Lorenzo Delladio, Managing Director of the company, who aims to evolve the company - born back in 1928 in the small mountain village in the Val di Fiemme in Trentino - into a "360°outdoor brand, capable of offering a complete range of products for mountain lovers of all seasons”.
The 2013/2014 winter collection is the result of this objective, which the company has achieved by introducing a range of innovative products for both the clothing and the hard goods sectors. Today the apparel line is made up of 80 different items and 30 new additions. These range from the innovative Halo Suit dedicated to the world of free riding, to the ultra light Valhalla Jacket and Astrid Jacket made using the lightest padding available on the market (Primaloft Sport® 25g) and a number of garments made from Polartec®, such as the crossover products Primus and Siren Hoody. The age old partnership with GORE TEX i Active Shell continues, and can be found in the more successful models such as Storm Fighter Jacket and Pants (previously awarded special editors' mentions in prestigious news magazines Backpacker Editor Choice Award and Outside Gear of the Year).
There are important news in the hard goods line too. La Sportiva have created their own interpretations of the 4-buckle boot for free riding. A concentration of innovation that have given life to Spectre and Sparkle, boots that are high performing for both climbs and downhill routes. These boots will be available thoughout specialist stores for the next winter season, together with the very new Stratos Cube, the latest invention for top level competition excellence. An ultra lightweight Karbon Kevlar 465g boot: the state of the art in the skimountaineering world.
