La Sportiva now on the feet of the Trento Alpine Guides
La Sportiva, the world leader in outdoor footwear and clothing production, is pleased to announce their recent partnership with the Collegio delle Guide Alpine del Trentino.  Thanks to this new partnership, the brand from Val di Fiemme, which has been producing technical mountaineering footwear since 1928, has become the official supplier of the Alpine Guides.

The decisive handshake between Lorenzo Delladio, Managing Director of La Sportiva, and Martino Peterlongo, president of the Collegio delle Guide Alpine, signalled the start of the collaboration between the two organizations from Trentino.  Over the years, in their various fields, they have both contributed to the growth and development of the mountaineering culture based on safety and respect for the environment. “It is a moment of great pride", states Peterlongo, "to collaborate with a company that has such strong roots in the territory in which we as alpine guides operate, in our endeavour to promote the environment and invite others to explore it in the appropriate way".

This collaboration not only gives us the opportunity to utilise the vast range of La Sportiva products, but also allows us to contribute to the future development and enhancement of other products. “The feedback we receive from Alpine Guides and others who work in the mountains", adds Delladio, "is vital in allowing us to create products which meet the needs of the most demanding consumers: those who live and work in the mountains. This partnership enables us to have even closer contact with these consumers and guarantees a constant field testing for La Sportiva's products". The history of the Trentino Alpine Guides dates back to the birth of mountaineering in the Dolomites.  The names of the Alpine Guides and porters appear in the first annual of the Società Alpinisti Tridentini which dates back to 1874.

Thanks to an ongoing technical and professional formation, the 240 Alpine Guides and trainee guides enrolled at the Collegio Trentino today operate in the fields of both classic and modern mountaineering.  They are capable of meeting the demands of both the professional and amateur mountaineer, providing a vital link between man, nature and mountain culture. La Sportiva started out in the year 1928 as a cobbler's shop, first repairing boots, then going on to produce the first mountaineering boots for wood cutters in Valle di Fiemme.  The company's vocation has always been to understand the requirements of mountaineers at all levels, a mission which the company has been carrying forward for over 85 years.

Every innovation over the years originates from their passion for the mountains; values that unite both La Sportiva and the Trentino Alpine Guides.
